After three years of working together on exciting initiatives and offerings for learners around the world, Kahoot! and Microsoft have taken their collaboration to the next level with the recent launch of new AI features powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.
Now, Microsoft is sharing the story of how the idea for Kahoot!’s new AI-powered question generator came to life, as well as an inside look at the new feature in action in the classroom.
Padraic Woods, Director of Product at Kahoot!, shared how one of the key goals for the new Kahoot! question generator was to help teachers save time. With this new feature, it only takes seconds to create engaging quizzes and interactive lessons and presentations that bring learning to life.
As Judith Cooper, a teacher, Kahoot! Ambassador, and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, showed us in a visit to her classroom, this has enabled her to invest more time into what matters most: connecting with her students.
The Kahoot! question generator is also designed to be a powerful tool for learning and engagement in businesses, as well as helping students to study smarter, not harder.
Reimagining the future of learning, together
Kahoot!’s collaboration with Microsoft kicked off in 2020 for the Kahoot! integration with Microsoft Teams, making it easier to boost engagement in virtual meetings. Since then, the two companies have teamed up to launch the popular Kahoot! add-in for PowerPoint, bringing interactivity to presentations seamlessly, as well as to introduce a collection of social-emotional learning content with Microsoft Reflect, which have now been played by 1.7 million non-unique participants.
In 2021, Kahoot! launched its first feature using Microsoft Azure: Read Aloud. This feature uses Microsoft Azure’s Text to Speech service to give learners the option to hear the kahoot questions and answer options read aloud, making Kahoot! more accessible for young learners and those with visual or reading impairments.
After this successful collaboration, the Kahoot! team was excited to work together with Microsoft again, this time leveraging Microsoft Azure OpenAI to make creating engaging learning content on Kahoot! easier than ever before.
